Everyone experiences and influences organizational culture, regardless of role or title. As one of Agile Leadership Journey’s introductory-level workshops, the Agility in Organizations™ workshop guides participants as they explore organizational culture and how to improve it through more agile ways of working. This workshop inspires and educates leaders at all levels through new concepts and techniques and a pragmatic approach that enables individuals to apply their learnings at work immediately.
Over this eight to ten-hour interactive learning experience, participants are introduced to the context of culture and key levers to shape it to improve alignment, focus and accelerate change towards increased business agility. This organizational leadership development workshop is focused on developing awareness of organizational culture and how leadership shapes culture (the bottom half of our Agile Leadership Compass™). It differs from Agility in Leadership™, which focuses on developing the leaders themselves.
The training may be offered independently or in combination with the
Agility in Leadership™ workshop. This organizational leadership workshop is available in both a public class and as a private engagement, often coupled with leadership coaching. It may be offered in person or online, with flexible scheduling options available. To find an Agility in Organizations™ workshop in your area or online, please refer to the
schedule of upcoming programs offered to the public by our Licensed Guides or contact us for a private workshop for your team or organization.
Our Agility in Organizations™ curriculum helps leaders see their organization’s culture and how it may hinder and/or support more agile ways of working.
Through the six key modules illustrated below, we provide leaders pragmatic and tangible practices to identify, focus, and accelerate change across the organization.
Organizational culture is a significant barrier to increased agility. We teach leaders how to identify their culture and how the strengths and challenges of theirs may enable or inhibit agile ways of working.
Most agile transformations fail to deliver defined results. We show leaders the pitfalls of top-down/ bottom-up approaches and how to effectively lead an inside-out, values-based program to sustain agility.
Culture change is not posters on the wall; it is an intentional focus on values guided by leadership. We teach leaders the levers of change: structures, policies, and measures. This helps them to shape and sustain a culture of agility.
Like agile transformations failing, most change initiatives fail as well. We teach leaders why, showing them how to avoid the pitfalls and to engage the organization to share ownership to build success.
Transformations are only A-to-B. Agility requires a disciplined inspect and adapt routine. We provide leaders a Catalyst Canvas™: a simple tool to help focus, align and accelerate change that can be used routinely.
Every organization is unique. We guide both leadership teams and individual leaders in applying the techniques to their organization context and develop the next steps in shaping their organizations.
This foundational workshop focuses on the following learning outcomes:
Participants will delve into frameworks and practices that foster a culture supportive of agile values and principles, ensuring that the organization can thrive in complex, uncertain, and rapidly changing environments. By the end of the workshop, these leaders will have a comprehensive understanding of how to assess and shape organizational culture, implement agile value delivery mechanisms, and lead change initiatives that align with agile principles for enhanced organizational performance and resilience.

There are no prerequisites for this introductory level workshop except to come with an open mind and a willingness to explore new ways of thinking and leading. No prior knowledge of agile or agile processes is necessary.
The Agility in Organizations™ workshop is recommended as prerequisite for the Applied Agility in Organizations™ program, which is the next step in the Agility in Organizations Series.
Upon sufficient participation and completion of this workshop, participants receive an Agile Leadership Journey certificate of completion and a corresponding badge. Only licensed Agile Leadership Journey Guides may deliver this training workshop and they determine if participants successfully engaged in the workshop to be awarded completion certificates. Agility in Leadership™ certificates of completion and badges from Agile Leadership Journey will be delivered to participants via email upon successful completion.
